In the town of Knixeph, Karma Runes was born under the light of a comet that streaked across the night sky in a blaze of red and gold. From his earliest days, it was clear he was marked by fire—his hair a shimmering cascade of ember-like strands. Karma was the second eldest of four siblings in a humble artisan family. His older sister Rosa was a guiding light and role model for him and their younger siblings—sister Nina and brother Atlas. Their parents, skilled but poor, struggled to make ends meet in a city that often overlooked those of modest means. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Karma&#039;s parents instilled in their children a deep pride in their elemental heritage. However, tragedy struck when Karma was still very young. Karma often wandered the bustling streets of their city to forget their daily struggles. One fateful afternoon, Karma&#039;s eyes fixated on a gleaming, magical ring displayed on a vendor&#039;s stand. Fueled by desperation and envy, Karma succumbed to temptation and pocketed the ring. Unbeknownst to Karma, the ring belonged to a powerful sorceress. The sorceress, distraught over the loss of her prized possession, sought revenge. &lt;br /&gt;

Using her magic, she traced the theft back to Karma&#039;s impoverished home. Driven by fury and a thirst for justice, the sorceress&#039;s husband, a formidable warrior, stormed Karma&#039;s humble abode. In a fit of rage, he confronted Karma&#039;s family. In a horrifying display of violence, Karma watched helplessly as his parents and siblings were murdered before his eyes. He narrowly escaped death himself, hidden by Rosa, who sacrificed herself to save him. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Traumatized and orphaned, Karma was left alone in a city that suddenly felt cold and hostile. The loss of his family fueled a burning desire for vengeance and justice. With only the clothes on his back and his family&#039;s heirloom locket, Karma fled into the shadows of [[Knixeph]]. Living on the streets, Karma honed his natural agility and dexterity out of necessity, learning to survive by any means necessary. He fell in with a small band of street bandits who taught him the basics of thievery and deception. &lt;br /&gt;

He later sought out the city&#039;s guild of rogues to hone his own abilities and gain helpful connections within the underbelly of society. He would use his abilities not just to survive in a city that often overlooked the poor, but to thrive as a master of shadows. As Karma grew older, his quest for vengeance against those who had destroyed his family became his singular focus. He tracked down leads, infiltrated criminal networks, and learned to wield his fiery heritage as a weapon. Along the way, he discovered a latent talent for magic, inherited from his elemental lineage, which he honed to enhance his rogue abilities. &lt;br /&gt;

Now, as a seasoned rogue for hire, Karma Runes now travels along with the Tempest Brother&#039;s Expeditionary Company, seeking out clues to unravel the mystery of his family&#039;s murder and to exact his long-awaited vengeance - while earning a little coin and notoriety on the side. His fiery heritage and roguish skills make him a formidable force, whether he&#039;s navigating treacherous dungeons, outsmarting rival mercenaries, or uncovering ancient artifacts that hold clues to his past. But amidst his relentless pursuit, Karma carries with him the memories of his family&#039;s love and sacrifice—a flickering beacon in the darkness that fuels his determination to bring justice to those who wronged them. He believes the comet he was born under was a symbol and a reminder that even in the face of hardship, the fire within him burns bright, lighting the way for his revenge. &lt;br /&gt;
