Regrets and Desires
Oswald wants to protect his family and his hometown of Davenwood, and make himself a prime example of what the Capybarafolk of Quelmar are capable of: Protection.

History
Oswald and his family reside in Davenwood, a very small town on the outskirts near Ravel. Although how their ancestry made it to Davenwood has become lost knowledge, the family has resided peacefully there as grain farmers. Davenwood was mostly a pass through for travelers on the way to Ravel, and Oswald found his first employment as a bouncer for the local tavern, keeping travelers quarrels away from the townsfolk who preferred their quiet lifestyle. During a violent outburst, Oswald's abilities caught the eye of a paladin of the Dawnlight, who admired his courage and control when faced with conflict. This paladin, who Oswald later knew to be Orthin, recruited him as a squire, and trained as a soldier and diplomat, instilling in him the virtues of justice, compassion, and restraint.

Oswald never grew up as a religious devotee, but Orthin encouraged him to see how the ways of the Dawnlight, in parallel with their deity Oretisf, could imbue him with sacred power in handling foes, or divine shielding in the protection of others, when violence was forced upon him.

Oswald grew in both strength and merit, and eventually was granted the name "the Peacekeeper" for his ability to turn duels into dialogues. The order bestowed upon him the Halberd of Harmony, a sanctified halberd from the World Tree, which he brandishes with pride as a symbol of his journey.

Now, many years later, Oswald is a traveling emissary of the Peacekeepers, upholding their oath to show strength in restraint, and to help others in this world see that violence should be a last resort, not a first answer.

Davenwood is a small town between the shores and the city of Ravel in Southern Osugbo.

About
A small farming town that is known for its local tavern, The Copper Still, by travelers making their way to Ravel.

This is also the birthplace of the Choeru paladin, Oswald, and the home of the Bastion of the New Dawn.

History
Davenwood was founded in 103 PR by Wobbly Whiskers when he and a group of woodland-folk found fertile land in between the city of Ravel and the ocean. With its proximity to an already established trade line, they put together the foundation of a small travelers' town, with Wobbly's tavern, "The Copper Still", being the main focal point. Wobbly wanted to provide a safe-haven for those weary from the road who needed on last rest before finishing their journey to Ravel. His commitment to sustaining the town during its early years resulted in a monument, erected in his honor, during the towns bicentennial celebration.

The townsfolk of Davenwood sought to be self-sustaining and quiet, becoming farmers who used their produce and knowledge of distilling to produce the ale and spirits featured at the Copper Still. Over the years, the town has grown little by little, with mostly like-minded rural folk opting for the quiet life, whereas most of their visitors opted for the hustle and bustle of the big city. The people of Davenwood preferred it that way, it kept any issues of politics and violence away from their humble abodes.

Notable Places
The Copper Still - The first major building of Davenwood, established by Woobly Whiskers in 104 PR. This is the icon of the city, offering cheap room and drink to travelers making their way to Ravel.

The Bastion of the New Dawn - A bastion started by Oswald, during the blowt invasion in Ravel.

Notable Events
The Fantasial Freeze
466 PR

Davenwood, being a farming town was heavily impacted by the frost that swept the entirety of Quelmar, killing a large portion of crops and livestock in the following months. Things seemed most dire during those months, but with a good relationship with Ravel, the town was able to survive with minimal casualties thanks to a few key resupply runs, including one by Oswald, which occurred just as the freeze broke, and allowed the town to start recovering.

The Great Fire of Davenwood
466 PR

On a quiet afternoon, a catastrophic wild fire started via questionable means on the roads between Ravel and Davenwood. The fire quickly grew out of control and without warning, swept through Davenwood, burning down nearly half the residencies of the town. Although no casualties were recorded during the fire, the townspeople, faced were with an even more uncertain future after just barely scraping by during the Freeze.

Left wondering how to pick up the pieces of their town to start anew, it just so happened that a resupply run, headed by Oswald and his companions, Ben, Jaxzo'llan, Jollyfist, Mundy, and En, showed up with provisions to help feed and restock the grain elevators of the town. With a glimmer of hope, and some lifted spirits thanks to the efforts of Jollyfist, En, and Mundy, the townsfolk were invigorated to continue to rebuilt.

Oswald, seeing the plight of his neighbors, and after coming face to face with a enemy both foreign and familiar, decided he could no longer leave the town to fend for itself with such uncertainty in the world. With the help of the town, he established the Bastion of the New Dawn, a place of refuge for the town during trying times.

Oswald also informed the townsfolk of the Blowt, and how they needed to now dispose of any deceased creature quickly and entirely before it could reanimate, and spread through the town.

Personality
Oswald tends to prefer being non-confrontational and kind in demeanor. He believes that conflict can be resolved through civil discourse when possible, and avoids being the first to rely on violence as a means to an end. If combat is unavoidable, Oswald becomes dependable and diligent in his duty, channeling his training as a soldier/hire-arm before joining the order of the Dawnlight.

During Oswald's training as a paladin, he focused more on preventing and redirecting damage, rather than healing damage after it had already been done. Fixating on trying to stop fights before they happened. He deemed that if he could intimated opponents through strength and will, they would become more malleable to peaceful discourse.

Oswald is not well versed in the magical arts outside of traditional paladin spell casting, but during a recent trip to the The Kaleidoscope, he unintentionally created "the Unweaving of Mortal Vestments". Although his original intent was to craft a spell that would make an enemy's armor more vulnerable in combat, he deems this spell a success in giving him the upper hand nonetheless.
After finally destroying Xilas LaCroix, Oswald reflects a little and comes to terms that there is some substantial evil in this world that he will continue to face. Although he held true to his oath, he realizes that this new enemy, this blowt, will require a much stronger defense than what he alone can provide.

"How could something take over such a significant part of the city so quickly?"

He ponders, as he walks through the streets of Ravel.

"Surely, this foe must be stronger than I can imagine... and we were lucky to survive our encounter with just 1 of these creatures..."

"And what if they continue to spread?"

Oswald's thoughts travel back to Davenwood, his home town, and his family and friends who still live there, he starts to imagine these blowt swarming out into the countryside, but pushes the thought out of mind for it being too dark and sad to entertain.

As he ponders what to do next, he finds himself at the doorstep of a familiar place, the C3. Reflecting back upon the kindness and protection this bastion provided him in his time of need, he finds a renewed sense of resolve. "This will be where our defenses will stand against the blowt" he thinks to himself. "I shall repay the protection this bastion showed me, and defend against these new aggressors that have attacked the city" As he walks in the doors of C3, he runs into a familiar face... Oswald is a caramel colored Choeru, standing just below 4ft tall. He is a stocky build, accompanying his short stature, with golden-orange eyes.

Personality
Oswald tends to prefer being non-confrontational and kind in demeanor. He believes that conflict can be resolved through civil discourse when possible, and avoids being the first to rely on voilence as a means to an end. If combat is unavoidable, Oswald becomes dependable and diligent in his duty, channeling his training as a soldier/hire-arm before joining the order of the Dawnlight.

History
Oswald and his family reside in Davenwood, a very small town on the outskirts near Ravel. Although how their ancestory made it to Davenwood has become lost knowledge, the family has resided peacefully there as grain farmers. Davenwood was mostly a pass through for travelers on the way to Ravel, and Oswald found his first employment as a bouncer for the local tavern, keeping travelers quarrels away from the townsfolk who preferred their quiet lifestyle. During a voilent outburst, Oswald's abilities caught the eye of a paladin of the Peacekeepers, who admired his courage and control when faced with conflict. This paladin, who Oswald later knew to be Orthin, recruited him as a squire, and trained as a soldier and diplomat, instilling in him the virtues of justice, compassion, and restraint.

Oswald never grew up as a religious devotee, but Orthin encouraged him to see how the ways of the Dawnlight, in parrallel with thier diety Oretisf, could imbue him with sacred power in handling foes, or divine shielding in the protection of others, when violence was forced upon him.

Languages
Common and quickly can understand almost any language

Powers and Abilities
