However, with the council’s arguing, they weren’t able to confirm anyone’s loyalties before Charlie Renning appeared and made an overt grab for the Duchess’ seat of power, backed by both changelings and the vampires holding Tatiana and Cathy. Thankfully, the Duchess and her squire arrived just in time to counter Charlie’s power grab. A massive fight ensued. The pack and their changeling allies were able to fend off Charlie’s forces and keep the ritual to break Salem’s curse from being interrupted. With Salem’s curse broken, she immediately unleashed the art of Naming to cripple Charlie’s remaining forces, then snapped Charlie’s neck. She also cursed Ash with one month of extreme weakness for half-blinding her.
