When he was only a couple months old his mother was killed by an adventurer, named Eryx, who upon discovering the young child adopted him and raised him in the nearby adventurer town Granite. After adopting the child, Eryx retired from his job as an adventurer and monster hunter and settled down in the town of Granite, to support himself and the child he began taking up odd jobs and slaying monsters at the Jewelspar Summons Disposary. Around the age of 6, while Chrysaor was playing in the savannah, he found a gold dragon wyrmling which he quickly became friends with and spent the day playing with it. While playing with the wyrmling, it accidentally scratched Chrysaor's left eye, leaving a scar. Upon returning home after playing with the wyrmling, Chrysaor developed a fever and became deathly ill. After several weeks, Chrysaor had a vivid dream of his mother offering him a golden sword. Upon waking up, Chrysaor's fever had broken, his scales turned gold, his scarred eye's color turned from blue to yellow, and he decided he wanted to become the greatest gladiator and an adventurer. He started traveling with his father to the Jewelspar Summons Disposary and training to become a gladiator. Due to his small stature, he learned he had to be quicker than his opponents, so he picked up a tricksy fighting style and finesse weapons. On his 10th anniversary of his fever breaking, Eryx thought he was finally old enough to go out and find his birthplace and retrieve the weapon that his mother offered him in his dream. Chrysaor set out on a journey to the cave where he was born. Upon arriving at the cave, he found that a cockatrice had moved into the cave. He fought the monster narrowly dodging its petrifying bite, after a tough battle he slew the beast and entered the cave to claim his birthright. After returning from his journey, Eryx began taking him on small journeys to develop his adventuring skills and magical capabilities. 3 years after Chrysaor retrieved his namesake sword, Eryx passed away and Chrysaor began using the broken sword that Eryx wielded to honor his memory.
