			Draft's cold open begins after their first mission with the Mayhem Mob, after their first outing as a new team that resulted in the death of one of their teammates, which left them in a pretty rough spot. However, they know all too well the effect that a failed mission can have on people, having seen them all too many times in their field training. Draft stepped up, and became a sort-of impromptu leader to the group, and even if their ideals weren't well received, they managed to rally the team up enough to deal with their first mission, when a building in the downtown area exploded in the distance. They were scattered and ill-prepared, and their rollout was...somewhat ineffective, but they managed to make it to the scene, where a dinosaur-esq monster (in Amia and Draft's eyes, at least), was waiting to attack. Despite their rough start, the team managed to work surprisingly well together, taking the monster down quickly and discovering that, in some sense, it was a dog that was transformed into the monster, which Draft vehemently campaigned to adopt. The party managed to convince the police that the dog was safer in their hands, and set out to try and find a safe spot for it, White Whale suggesting to take it to the safe house where he stole a car from to get to the scene. They all showed up together, but when Balancing Act returned home, White Whale told them to hide, which Draft took seriously.

			The unnamed team gets their first taste of the hero life when a supervillain was threatening the life of Mayor Francine Ansur. Obscurite, Lifeline II, White Whale, Draft, and Flyer all set out to try and deal with the threat, but it was much stronger than any of us anticipated. In the end, Flyer was forced to sacrifice himself to save the mayor, and they didn't make it out, leaving a gaping hole, both physically and emotionally. When Pro Heroes arrived on the scene, they had...mixed opinions on the incident. Ogalas took us aside, and reassured us that sometimes hero work gets gritty, and that this may not be the last death we see. All and all, he was impressed with our work, that we were able to take a villain of that caliber down. We were able to recuperate with that encouragement, but not for long, when Aerokrys, the hero who Flyer was a sidekick for, publicaly revealed White Whale's use of the same technology that belonged to renowned villain Balancing Act, condemning our team and him for being responsible for Flyer's death. With our public perception being rocky at best, our team sets out to continue.

The two are famous for finding quiet places in the city, far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, to smoke and talk about the stresses of daily life, such as Obscurite confiding in Draft about the source of her powers. Despite not being 100% good for them, having someone who they can relate to a little bit is a godsend for Draft.

Draft does, however, know of his former team-member status, a secret that she has been asked to take to her grave. She told Lifeline II about this less than a week later in an attempt to get Lifeline II to open up.
