When the adventurers failed to retrieve the blade, Vincent succumbed to the psionic whispers, effortlessly claiming the weapon. Unfortunately, he also fell victim to Shadow Sickness and fled, leaving the team behind.

			While on the run through Umbralhound, Vincent accidentally activated the Emerald Blade’s protective shield, which granted him temporary respite from Shadow Sickness. He stumbled upon an abandoned village, which he named “Hopeville,” and began aiding refugees in need. However, resource scarcity and paranoia drove the town into darkness. When a druid tried to build a wall around the settlement, the residents, fearing exposure and further strain, enlisted bandits to kill the druid. This began a vicious cycle of exploitation, transforming Hopeville into a grim, desperate place.

			Eventually, Vincent was tracked down, and in a dramatic confrontation, the Emerald Blade was wrested from his possession.
