			Flaunting wealth like it was your last was praised, but those who hid their wealth were looked down upon. Families who did this were scrutinized and suspected to be hiding assets for tax reasons. One of the most universal ways this was done, was through suing others with some huge rationale. Another popular method of flaunting was to "string" the servants along to show how obedient they were with the families. Servants will never retaliate lest they face consequences such as beatings, public humiliation, pay cuts, or even jail time. Deals that were made without paper is like the deal never existed, or is taken so literally, that no amount of wording without paper can get the contract secured with no loopholes.

			Banquets are breakfast, lunch and dinner, but it's not like the people of High Lunas honestly care about the food going. 			There is one thing all houses avoided at all costs, because provoking a civil war would destroy the economy of the proud Lunas: You did not wrong a house, unless you can prove they did something illegal. Since the president had no say on how the economy was run due to a "Hands Off" approach, the matter had to be solved among the houses. Whispers of houses subverting their rivals in some way or another however, is not the hard to get in on when you know the right people.
