			In Mudburrow there’s no lasting ruler, instead Mudburrow is governed by whichever kobold has the loudest voice, shiniest rock, or biggest dragon costume that week. Mudburrow “Mayors” sometimes reign for months, sometimes for hours, until they’re usurped by another kobold’s louder claim or funnier stunt. The longest lasting mayor of Mudburrow was Mayor Stink, who was mayor for 4 years, then was deposed, then became mayor again for 2 months, then was deposed, then became mayor again for 20 minutes, then became deposed, and then became mayor for 7 years.

			Some rulers declare sweeping decrees like “All kobolds must wear socks on their ears!” while others spend their reign lounging in a chair they found and calling it a throne. Though whenever a dragon is nearby, or a cultist that is high in Tiamat’s favor, the Kobolds will defer to their leadership, until they get bored and return to Mudburrow. The closet thing the kobolds of Mudburrow have to a "town hall" is the only structure that survived in its entirety when Woodhurst, the ''Hogsfoot Tavern''. Every year (though the kobolds aren't very good at keeping time), the kobolds hold a festival where they try to drink as much alcohol from the taverns cellars before they pass out.

Entire streets weave and collapse in on themselves, with ladders, rope bridges, and tunnels connecting houses in ways no sensible builder would ever approve of. Along with the streets above, the Kobolds dug burrows beneath the streets, so parts of the town are literally hollow, like a warren. The fissure that destroyed Woodhurst still splits the town in two. Kobolds have strung together “bridges” made of planks, doors, or even giant bones scavenged from nearby battlefields.

			Nestled within a shallow fissure by the coast of south-west Osugbo, Mudburrow is a village built into the dirt and earth of the fissure. Once, it was the respectable lumber town of Woodhurst, supplying timbers to neighboring towns and cities. That all changed during the early years of [[the War of Many Names]], when a dragon’s attack split the land beneath it, swallowing much of the village into an earthy fissure. The survivors fled, and what was left became a haven for the dragon’s small, scaly admirers: kobolds.

			The kobolds called it Mudtown at first, because they tracked the mud everywhere, because they liked the sound (and taste) of it, and because they couldn’t figure out a better name. Also only like three of them could read and spell. Over the decades, however, the village grew into something more established. Today, under the “leadership” of its ever-changing roster of kobold chieftains, the settlement is known as Mudburrow.
