			In 925 [[PR]], the River Styx was dried up after the death of Charon and the use of his oar by the [[giant]] cultists of [[the Ordained]] who used the oar to stem the river's flow. After the river dried up, the parasites inhabiting the headwaters spread across its entirety and grew to monstrous sizes.

			In 926 PR the adventuring team known as the [[The Hellraisers\|Hellraisers]] traveled to the Ruby Headwaters with the intention of recreating the Styx. For this end, they summoned the warmongering [[archangel]] [[Gabriel]] whose blood they needed for the ritual. After defeating Gabriel and driving away the dragon [[Barroth\|Barroth the Unredeemable]], the party bound Gabriel within the heart of Sardior. From here, the hero [[Aliria Servine]] created an artifact called [[Sword of Mortem\|the Sword of Mortem]] and used it to impale Gabriel and turn him into the new source point for her Passage of Souls, the replacement for the River Styx.
